FOR WHO IS ZIMBABWE?

For the adventure lovers, and big wildlife aficionados

For safari junkies, who don’t get tired of seeing animals

For those who love waterfalls

For those who like to go into unexplored parts of africa, where everything feels wild

The first time I went to Zimbabwe, more than 10 years ago, I started the trip in one of the most beautiful national parks I’ve been to: Mana Pools. It’s one of the rarities where you are inland facing the mighty Zambezi and can experience true adventure, if you are… adventurous. I mean canoeing for some days straight, sleeping in mobile tented camps and being faced with wildlife at its wildest state. I also mean close up encounters with elephants, hippos while seating on a tiny canoe or walking,

Zimbabwe is a country for the nature lovers, the Africa lovers and those who like safaris in wild places. Up at Mana Pools you don’t have to canoe. You can do it on foot or on a 4x4. Regardless, action is guaranteed and so are the most scenic landscapes.

Moving on from the water front. there are other national parks filled with great wildlife, and rarities too. And, much like Zambia, you can always choose to visit the Victoria Falls and stay in some colonial-style properties that will take you back to an era you only saw in vintage movies.

You can travel by plane and in some regions by car.

Everything is here except rhinos. Some rarities like the wild dogs, the endangered cheetah are here too but what is striking in some parks is the amount of elephants, the big herds of antelopes and the many hippos.

One should stay at least 9 nights to visit 3 different areas of the country.

Walking safaris are something incredible here. Taking a helicopter over the falls, go rafting or kayaking or swimming. Try boating, game drives, fly camping. There is much to explore in this country.

If you wish to go up to Mana Pools you must head into Zimbabwe between June and October. Rainy months tend to happen in January and February.
