LOVINGJUNE TRAVEL VALUES
WE CARE ABOUT PRESERVING WILDERNESS AREAS
There are many reasons as of why we fell in love with Nature.
Many.
But the most important one is the fact that many people who are born in countries that host big national parks (or often travel to them) are worried about preserving these immense wilderness areas, and the life in it.
As a company, there is nothing we care more than this.
With a planet so damaged by human footprint, so polluted with noise and movement, so full of us, we worry about the many other creatures that live in it, with little space and often difficult chances to survive. We worry that our land is so modified and "toxified" that it is unable to generate more natural resources. And we worry that the only way to save certain species from extinction is to keep them in captivity. The thought of having a wild animal living inside an enclosure, as big as it might be, continues to disturb us. The journeys we design are hopefully contributing to keep those vast extensions of land intact and safe for the wild species that live in them. That is the intention behind the creation of LovingJune Travels.
WE FOLLOW CERTAIN PRINCIPLES WHEN DESIGNING A TRIP
As we decided to move into the business of planning trips to people who wish to see wildlife in their natural habitat, and/or explore wilderness areas, we realised that we would only work with partners and properties whose concerns mirror ours.
Make no mistake: conservation is a hot topic and there are different valid opinions around it. Personally, there are some principles we hold on to and apply while designing journeys for our clients.
- We are against safaris where you queue behind cars to see a leopard eating its prey.
- We are against safaris that allow cheetahs to jump on the cars so that guests ravel at that.
- We are against sending people to properties where you walk with lions, cuddle cheetahs or ride elephants as if all of these animals were pets.
- We are against any form of tourism that over populates areas that need to be quiet, so the natural world stays as "undisturbed" as possible.
AND WE SEND OUR CLIENTS TO PLACES WHERE…
- Remoteness is key, nature is wild and - where applicable - wildlife is (still) abundant;
- Luxury properties are small and intimate, with very few rooms, so one can enjoy the pace of a true safari life whilst having an exquisite service, warm atmosphere and excellent guiding knowledge;
- Areas where there is very little human movement, a low impact footprint and barely any human interference.
- Management and construction guidelines of the properties are the most sustainable possible.
- Clients can visit conservation projects that rehabilitate animals back into the wild, and learn from the people on the ground, who work -daily- to preserve both wildlife and wilderness areas.
“Luxury in Nature” This is our MOTTO.
We value properties that are getting into electric 4x4 cars or boats, that are often 100% solar powered, that create their own vegetable gardens to reduce aircraft food supply into camps. We value chefs who are developing a more diverse vegan or vegetarian cuisine and lodges where plastic usage is banished or reduced to the maximum at camps. We value non-fenced properties. We value the fact that more women are taking up guiding and more local people are assuming management roles in camps.
We value all of this and we value that our clients sit, sleep, eat and rest in beautiful tiny properties where service and warmth are authentic, detail oriented and discreet. We love when rooms views, bath views, dining views are stunning, interior design is fitting the surrounding and all details are taken care of.
Our ideal goal is that every client we plan a trip for gets the urgency of caring for this fragile wild corners of the planet, cares for conservation issues and shares their travel experiences with others. For every trip we create, hopefully, one wildlife ambassador is born. This is our dream. And we would love to have you in it.
